Storing your toy crane machine properly is crucial to protect your investment and ensure it works perfectly when you bring it out again. Follow this step-by-step guide for safe and efficient storage.
First, prepare for the process. Unplug the machine from the power source completely. Gather supplies like soft cloths, mild cleaner, screwdrivers, zip-lock bags for small parts, bubble wrap, moving blankets, and a sturdy cardboard box or original packaging if available.
Next, clean the machine thoroughly. Wipe down the exterior cabinet, the glass or plastic panel, and the prize claw with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals. Let all surfaces dry completely to prevent mold.
Now, disassemble carefully. Remove any prizes from the claw and the prize bin. If your model allows, detach the prize claw by following the manufacturer's instructions—this often involves unscrewing it from its cable. Gently coil the control cables. For larger machines, you might remove the front glass/plastic panel. Place all screws and small parts in labeled zip-lock bags and tape the bag securely to a main part of the machine or the inside of the cabinet.
Finally, pack and store it safely. Wrap the main cabinet and any detached parts generously in bubble wrap or moving blankets. Place the machine in an upright position in its box or on a pallet in your storage area. Choose a clean, dry, and climate-controlled space to avoid damage from moisture and temperature extremes. Avoid placing heavy items on top of the cabinet. With these steps, your toy crane machine will be ready for fun when you retrieve it.
